Hello
My name is Will Concannon and I am a 3D game artist from Boston, MA. Currently, I am attending Champlain College as a Game Art and Animation Major with a focus on game environment and prop design. I am in my senior year as a game artist and I couldn't be happier moving through this program. I am well versed in Maya and have been using it since high school. Today I continue to use Maya, as well as powerful engines such as Unity and Unreal 4 for rendering and small game projects.
Like many of my peers, I have always had a love for video games. Though, through all of my years playing I have always had an untapped desire to further explore and see past the walls that the games were presenting me. Its because of these experiences that I have always had the desire to build the worlds I experienced as a kid.
My love for games and their art began long ago when one night my mom brought home the original Xbox along with the game Halo Combat Evolved. Me and my father quickly began to love this game, and though we would play singleplayer every once and a while, we really got into the coop mode. To this day we continue to play through that campaign, but it was on that first night that my love for video games was born. Fast forward to my junior year of high school when I went off to Chicago for a summer program at Depaul University. In this week long program, I was introduced to both Maya, Unity, and the basic game art pipeline. It was here that I made my very first game alongside two other teammates. On my final day of the program, I truly decided to dedicate my professional career to game art. From there, I took up a digital media class at my high school and quickly submitted my application to Champlain College and a handful of other colleges that offered game art as a major.
Since then my passion for game art has only grown stronger as I continue to study and grow as an artist. Once finished with my college career, I hope to find my professional career working with a team to help create amazing games.
